As a songwriter, Robert covets the poetry, imagery of the mind and storytelling of such lyrical titans like, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jimmy Webb, Jim Steinman, and Desmond Child and of course, Lennon & McCartney as well as Jagger & Richards to name a very few.

As far as “sounds” go, “that’s a completely different animal” says Rob. “It would be pretty tough to beat the hugeness of sound in Rock n Roll created by Queen, Pink Floyd and E.L.O. Going back in history, Elvis, Chuck Berry, The Beatles and Rolling Stones all made a “noise” that was emotionally powerful to me.

More recently, the aggressiveness of more modern “Hard Rock” bands starting in the 70’s with Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Kiss and Bowie… later on, Judas Priest, Montrose, U.F.O. Nazareth, The Scorpions, Ozzy Osborn’s Blizzard, Black Sabbath (with Dio) Enuff Z Nuff were all game changers for me.

Today, it’s become more difficult to find new music that I enjoy and am inspired by. Volbeat, Black Star Riders, The Defiants, and Sixx AM are some new artist entities that I am listening to.
